Mobile currently operates three mobile dental units and has designed two more
to support expanded operations. We are excited about the completion and arrival
of these new units, which are expected in late September and October 2002. Below
are some projects we have underway for the coming months.
Tooth Mobile is partnering with the nonprofit organization
International Relief Team to address the dental needs of the 27,000 children in
east San Diego County. We anticipate the onset of Tooth Mobile programs to occur
as early as September 2002.
Tooth Mobile is working diligently with local leaders
to develop the most effective program to tackle the enormous need in this area.
Los Angeles County has over 700,000 students, and we are eager to begin serving
them.
Tooth Mobile will travel to three more rural, northern counties
to provide dental care to the underserved. Currently, there is a shortage of dentists
to treat these remote, sparsely populated communities. Our clinics' mobility enables
our staff to effectively deliver services to these people.
